EFA Weekly UPDATE
EFA Families,
Today we will cover the upcoming 2026-27 EFA application and spending caps.
Current queue dates
We are currently reviewing submissions from the following dates:
Reimbursement - 2/3
Direct Pay - 2/4
Marketplace - 2/6
Pre-approvals - 2/12
If you have a submission from before these dates that has not yet been reviewed, it is likely being given closer consideration. Feel free to reach out to ADE if you have submissions from before these dates.
2026-27 EFA Application Open Date
Next year's EFA application, for both renewing and new students, will be tentatively opening on March 9th. We will be sending out instructions in the next week or two, so please keep your eye out for that.
Spending Caps
As a reminder, state law places spending caps on two categories:
Transportation, and
The combined category of physical education, extracurricular activities, and field trips.
Each of these is limited to 25% of your annual disbursement (for most students, $1,716).
As we move further into the school year, more families are beginning to approach these limits. To estimate how much you’ve spent in these categories, you can log into your ClassWallet dashboard and select Manage Orders. While this view does not break expenses out by category, it can help you gauge your overall spending and how close you may be to the cap.
If a reimbursement request would exceed your remaining allowable amount, we will adjust the reimbursement to reflect the funds still available in that category. Please note that we cannot make adjustments to Direct Pay invoices, as those payments must match the invoice amount exactly.
Before the start of Q4, we will also notify families who are nearing one of these limits.
We're happy to be serving you. Have a great rest of your week!
Sincerely,
Arkansas EFA Team
