JULY 1st BIG updates
Dear EFA Families,
As of today, ClassWallet is in a transitional period to prepare for the 2025-26 school year. You will see a $0 balance if you log in, but that is only temporary. If you have a returning student and have completed your 2025-26 EFA application, you will regain access to your account by July 9th with your remaining 2024-25 EFA funds rolled over into a 2025-26 purse. You will need to sign the affidavit for the 2025-26 purse to make your rollover balance visible and available for use.
Here are a few other things to take note of before we transition into the 2025-26 school year:
If you have left over funds, have completed your 2025-26 application, and have entered your student’s ClassWallet ID on that application, you may continue to use ClassWallet in July, but no additional funds will be available until Q1 funds are released on August 21st.
If your student currently has limited or no funds available but is returning next school year, you may make eligible purchases now and request reimbursement for those purchases after the first disbursement. Remember that families are asked to prioritize tuition payments before other eligible expenses.
Reimbursement for services from reputable organizations will no longer require them to apply for the EFA program. As we approve reimbursements for such organizations, we will add them to a reimbursement-only list.
We would still encourage new vendors to apply and plan on streamlining our vendor application significantly. Direct Pay is a beneficial process for both families and the department, so we would like as many vendors as possible to join Direct Pay by completing our vendor application.
For the 2025-26 school year, we will have new purchase categories in ClassWallet. Please be sure to choose the category that best fits your purchase.
With revisions to the LEARNS Act, there are also new spending limits on some categories. You may spend no more than 25% of your annual disbursement on travel, and no more than 25% on extra-curriculars, PE, and field trips. We will have more information on all of this in the coming weeks, but in the meantime, please pay attention to the purchase categories in ClassWallet and make sure to select the correct one.
Technology purchases will no longer have a hard limit, but we will monitor spending in this category and will reach out if we need justification for technology purchases. Computers, tablets, printers, headphones, and all tech-related accessories will go into the same "technology" category. Please make sure to select that category for all technology purchases.
If you have a student who will be new to the program in the 2025-26 school year, we will not start onboarding those students in ClassWallet until later this summer.
Please look out for more program updates in the coming months. We look forward to serving you in the 2025-26 school year.
Sincerely,
EFA Team
