Apple Galette
Baketivity Sourdough course box 4.
Korah is still Baking the world a better place with this sourdough course. This round was an Apple Galette. We did have to special add a few things to the grocery order because well…. We do NOT use lemons lol. I know most people probably zest or squeeze a lemon from time to time, but in general we just aren’t lemon people.
On the other hand, the “OPTIONAL” additional ingredient was Bourbon, and we had plenty of that, well maybe not ‘plenty’ but the decanter wasn’t empty yet.
I can NOT wait to redo this kitchen. This oven has GOT to be 30 years old lol. But that’s a coming project and while it will enhance the baking experience it’s neither here nor there at this moment.
This was not a fast setup, but was a fairly quick bake once it was ready to roll out and get oven ready. Now the dough prep on this was lengthy. I do feel she is definitely learning lessons in patience and in follow through. Probably some hard learned lessons in preplanning too.
It came out quite tasty. You can in fact taste the optional Bourbon a bit, which was a great flavor I do suggest adding it if you have a decanter or two you can spare a shot from. She served it topped with vanilla ice cream with a drizzle of caramel. 10/10 recommend…
