The Hearth School
I'm so excited to introduce The Hearth School to homeschool families in the Little Rock area.
The Hearth School is a small, in-home learning community for grades 1–5, designed for families seeking a warm, personal, literature-rich learning environment. Our days are rooted in great books, hands-on learning, and time outdoors.
Students receive instruction in:
• Language Arts & Reading
• Living Math
• Nature & Science Explorations
• Stories of the World
• Art & Handicrafts
• Poetry Teatime
We also prioritize daily reading, outdoor exploration, and meaningful learning through stories, creativity, and discussion.
Families may choose flexible enrollment options:
• 2 Days – Monday & Wednesday
• 3 Days – Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday
• 4 Days – Monday–Thursday
The program is intentionally small and mixed-age, allowing for a calm, nurturing atmosphere where children are known and supported. This can be a wonderful fit for homeschool families or for parents looking for a thoughtful alternative to traditional school environments.
Enrollment is limited to keep the community small.
If you’d like more information about The Hearth School, feel free to comment or send me a message and I’d be happy to connect!
Meet Miss Beth
Miss Beth is the founder and teacher at The Hearth School, a small learning community rooted in literature, nature, and creativity.
Beth brings more than 15 years of teaching experience, including 11 years teaching overseas. She holds a Master’s Degree in Curriculum and Instruction and has spent the past six years homeschooling her own three children, thoughtfully combining her professional experience with the rhythms of home-centered learning.
Over the years, Beth has become deeply passionate about creating learning environments where children feel known, valued, and inspired to grow. Her teaching is shaped by a love of living books, meaningful conversations, hands-on exploration, and creative expression.
In addition to leading The Hearth School, Beth teaches art classes and enjoys helping children discover the joy of making things with their hands. She cares deeply about social and emotional health, believing that strong relationships and a sense of belonging are essential foundations for learning.
Outside the classroom, Beth enjoys reading, gardening, cooking, running, and spending time outdoors with her family—always looking for the small moments of beauty that make everyday life meaningful.
The Hearth School grew from Beth’s desire to create a warm, personal learning community where children can experience the richness of learning together.
Beth believes that when children are surrounded by great books, meaningful work, and caring relationships, learning becomes both joyful and lasting.
