New weekly ADE update

EFA Homeschool Families,

Please carefully read the information below. Many of your questions may be answered.

Testing Information:

  • Important announcement: You will be receiving an email sometime on Sunday, June 1 from our test portal provider or ADE that will give you instructions for submitting test results. If you don’t see it by Monday, please check your junk/spam folder as well. If you have not received the email after checking the spam/junk folder, please contact the EFA team at ade.efa@ade.arkansas.gov.

If you have received the email, please follow the instructions in the email and submit your test results by June 30th. If you have any questions about testing assistance, issues, or concerns, please reach out to Morgan at morgan@ar.outbridge.org.

EFA Testing Portal (available on or after June 1, 2025) - Need help with test selection? Have you already taken a test and need help with submitting it? Please visit https://ar.outbridge.org/testing-requirements

As a reminder, acceptance of EFA funds requires the submission of test results in math and reading using one of the approved norm-referenced tests.

  • When are test results due?

Testing results must be submitted by June 30, 2025 to retain your eligibility for the Education Freedom Account program.

Reimbursement, Funding, and Vendor Information

  • For CURRENT EFA students who are NOT returning next year:

  • ADE will continue accepting reimbursement receipts until June 30, 2025 for all eligible purchases. Please help us to expedite the approval process by adhering to guidelines for eligible purchases. A list of eligible expenses is here.

  • For CURRENT EFA students who ARE returning next year:

  • IMPORTANT UPDATE: You will still be allowed to submit reimbursements in July and later for purchases made in the previous school year. We will be shutting down the system from July 1-7 to transition accounts to the new school year. Other than that, you do not need to worry about ANY deadlines or date restrictions. You will also be able to continue to use the direct pay system.

  • For NEW EFA students beginning in the 2025-26 school year:

  • Families who will be NEW in 2025 – 2026 CANNOT be reimbursed for items purchased prior to July 1, 2025 (the first day of the 25 – 26 fiscal year for EFA)

  • The exception to this is for registration or tuition payments that are REQUIRED to be paid prior to July 1, 2025 for classes/courses that will take place in the 2025-2026 school year.

  • UPDATE FOR ALL FAMILIES:

  • The Department has decided to continue its policy of universal reimbursement. That means that all products and services that are eligible for payment with EFA funds are also eligible for reimbursement.

  • The first distribution of funds for 2025 – 2026 will be on or after August 21, 2025.

Notice of Intent to Homeschool (NOI) Form

  • Filing an NOI: Starting after June 1, 2025, you may submit a paper form to your resident school district (this is based on your physical address); or you may use the online portal here.
