Sourdough Box 2 - Baketivity

The second box, the part you do after you get the starter going, is baking your first simple loaf. I am not sure if it was a complete success, so she plans to do it a few more times before moving onto the BOX 3 project.

The kneading or mixing or whatever she was doing to this thing were a whole affair. She did not plan her feed and start well. Her bread was effectively ready to start baking at 2am. Do not be like Korah, consider the TIME when you get it ready for baking it.

Once it did all the sitting after and other such things she did all the flouring and things.

It sat in this pretty bowl before she baked it too. The bowl comes in the box. The videos for each month are very helpful. She’s enjoying learning about bread making and making various other items besides simple loaves.

There were definitive hiccups in her bake. One….. she did not put the parchment paper under her bread in my dutch oven. SOOOOO we added a lesson in how to properly scrub stuck on crap from my pot. So due to the sticking she had to TEAR her bread out of the Dutch Oven.

I will say she still gets an 8 out of 10. Is it pretty NO. Were there mistakes? YES!! But was is good bread? The taste was good. The texture not perfect but not bad. ALL of her siblings ate it. A few of those trolls are picky little Gremlins so that is a feat on its own.

She will update with an actual LOAF this next week after another run.

Baketivity is a marketplace vendor. This is the Sourdough subscription which features 12 months of sourdough lessons.
